Dear ANiC members,

As you may be aware, ANiC Council is the governing body for ANiC and is comprised of 5 clergy and 5 lay members, in addition to Bishop Dan Gifford. The intent is that the Council has a balanced representation of ANiC parishes from across Canada and the US, and that the Council members bring a broad spectrum of knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the work of ANiC. At each Synod there is an election for members of Council; this year there are 6 open positions - 3 for clergy and 3 for lay members. We are seeking your assistance in sharing this information with your congregations so that your parishioners are aware of the work of the Council and how they might become involved. We also are requesting your help in identifying individuals who you believe would be valuable members of Council.

Please share this information and the application form (found here) with your clergy and parishioners. The deadline for applying for one of these positions is Sept. 1st. The Nominating Committee will review all applications and will be recommending to Council those who would provide a balanced representation of all our parishes and can provide Council with the current knowledge and skill needs required to best manage and lead the Anglican Network in Canada. These nominees will then stand for election at Synod in November.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter and for your continued prayers for the work of ANiC Council.

Rev. Shaun O’Connor
