The Venerable Paul Charbonneau
Executive Archdeacon & Archdeacon for Southern Ontario
Paul currently serves as Rector of St Hilda’s Church in Oakville, ON. And in 2020 was appointed by Bishop Charlie as Executive Archdeacon for the diocese.
“The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.
1 Timothy 1:5
Pastor Paul came to faith in Jesus in 1978 during the tail end of the Jesus People Movement. Immediately after graduating and working in Forestry for a short time he went into full-time studies for ministry at McGill University. He graduated and was ordained in 1984.
Paul married Joanne, the love of his life and high school sweetheart, in 1980. They have three children and a wonderful daughter-in-law and son-in-law.
Paul loves playing hockey (he is a legend in his own mind), golf, music, artwork and the various pet ferrets and cats that roam around their home.
Paul and Joanne’s goal in life can be summarized as: “The purpose for our lives is to grow in – and bring people to – the love of God the Father through faith in Jesus Christ, equip them to worship, pray, demonstrate grace and fellowship in the Church and world through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
