The Venerable Angus Wu

Archdeacon for AMMiC

Angus has served as the Rector of St. Matthias and St. Luke Church (SMSL) in Vancouver since 2021. Originally from Hong Kong, Angus was invited by SMSL to serve in Canada. Hediscerned this as God’s call, embracing the Anglican tradition and contributing to a vibrant ministry.

With over two decades of ministry experience, Angus spent ten years leading congregations and later served as Chaplain at a Lutheran seminary, guiding local and international students (particularly from the Mekong region) and teaching Homiletics. His ministry reflects a deep passion for preaching, pastoral care, and mentorship.

An outdoor enthusiast, Angus enjoys driving—especially motorcycles—and has a love for classical music, modern novels, Korean dramas, and Japanese anime. He is married to Mazy, and they have two daughters, Gloria and Esther. 

Angus was appointed as archdeacon for the Asian and Multicultural Ministries in Canada (AMMiC) on October 17, 2024.
