The Anglican Explorers Initiative
In 2019, diocesan Bishop Charlie Masters, following consultation with the House of Bishops, the Archdeacons, and ANiC Council, authorized the new Anglican Explorers initiative.
"It is with great joy and anticipation that I charge Anglican Explorers to find new and creative ways to establish Biblically faithful, Gospel sharing Anglican churches in the cities and towns of Canada. ‘Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.’ (Gal 6:9). With prayer and in the power of the Holy Spirit, send out workers into the harvest to proclaim the salvation of God to all.”
– Bishop Charlie
Here’s some more about this new initiative:
The purposes are:
to identify people and Seed Groups interested in developing ANiC Projects.
to identify potential Planters and help them discern their calling
to befriend, train and support both Seed Groups and Planters
to match Planters with Seed Groups and Opportunities under the direction of the bishop
The initiative intends to:
Celebrate every achievement and share news and updates regularly.
Encourage innovative bi-vocational and non-stipendiary leadership as avenues to project initiation.
Connect with individuals and small groups across the country that are not within reach of an ANiC Project or Parish and who are considering starting a ministry.
Bishop Ron Ferris and the Rev. Geoff Chapman have been named co-leaders with power to co-opt. Traff Green and Rev. Danielle Martell join them on the Board as the first Directors.
