“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit(Mt 28:19)

We have three active, strategic church plants recently launched in BC, Ontario and Quebec. As a diocese we’ve committed to provide major support for these young churches through prayer, encouragement and funds, as they seek to reach new parts of our nation with the good news of Jesus.

You can find out more about these new plants below and how you can help them flourish. With your help we hope to be a great blessing to them and to enable more and more new church plants to grow all across the country.

Highway Northshore - North Vancouver, BC

  • We have 4 baptisms and 3 reaffirmations of faith planned for the 5th September.

  • We have a growing youth ministry that meets fortnightly in partnership with Younglife.

  • Two youth and school workers are joining us at the end of August.

  • Looking to start a young adult ministry in partnership with Younglife in the fall.

  • We have the beginnings of a food ministry.

  • Looking for a building for Sunday worship in the fall.

  • Church conference with Wounded Healers in partnership with St Simons in October.

  • 35 Adults and 19 children have attended at least one of our services over the summer.

Messiah Kanata - Kanata, ON

Lead Church Planter - Rev. Daniel Avitan

Here’s an update from Daniel in their Summer newsletter:

  • We have a fantastic group of people that have committed to Messiah Kanata. What a privilege to lead this group and call them friends.

  • At the end of June, we wrapped up a study on the Apostles’ Creed.

  • It appears we have found a home for weekly Sunday services! Kanata Baptist Church is located on a very busy and central street, next to a busy strip mall and grocery store and is very accessible to the majority of Kanata and the neighbouring communities. The folks of KBC have been very generous with us and, time and again, they have expressed their desire to bless us. Although we are yet to iron out all of the details, we will look to October to launch weekly Sunday afternoon services there.

  • Prayer Requests: Pray for our new location at KBC and all of the logistics and planning leading up to our October launch.
As always, please pray that we would be faithful in evangelism and outreach.
Pray that God would continue to meet our needs leading up to this Fall and beyond.

  • Daniel’s wife, Christine, just gave birth this past week to the newest member of their family, a baby girl they’ve named Ella.

Résurrection Rigaud - Rigaud, QC

Lead Church Planter - Rev. Jonathan Camiré

Here’s an update from Jonathan:

  • Bishop Charlie visited us in July. We had two baptisms with brothers and sisters from several ANIC churches visiting.

  • Doors have opened to share our faith with locals. We have also had more boldness to share our faith. Praise God!

  • We are partnering with local churches to children, youth, and young adults more effectively.

  • We are translating the Psalms to chant melodies in French and recording them to share online to encourage people to sing and pray through the Psalms.

  • We have had weekly prayer walks in our city and hope to start an online Evensong in English and French this fall. We have seen how non-Christians are open and drawn to prayer, so we hope to incorporate them too.

  • Please pray for an increase in opportunities and boldness to share our hope in Christ. Please pray that all our needs would be met as we seek first God's kingdom and righteousness. Please pray that our outreach would be directed and anointed by the Holy Spirit.

  • If you can donate, we are looking to enhance our online presence by purchasing equipment (microphones to record Psalms and improve our online services, lighting, camera, etc.) and putting out online ads.
