Pray For the Peace of the World

A request from our House of Bishops to pray for peace in Ukraine and the world.

Odessa, Ukraine

Last Sunday (Feb. 20) we took time in our services for World Mission Sunday to pray for the Church worldwide and the spread of the gospel around the globe.

This Sunday, February 27, 2022, in the light of the war now happening in the Ukraine, our House of Bishops asks that you join us in praying for peace, for wisdom and good will for our world leaders, and for the end of all aggression. Let us pray that war would not escalate and for the protection of all people.

Building on our prayers of last week, as it was after the conversion of Paul in Acts 9, let us pray that it be reported once again in our time of a great peace and a great turning to the Lord Jesus, the Prince of Peace:

“So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.” Acts 9:31

Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed: Kindle, we pray, in the hearts of all people the true love of peace, and guide with your pure and peaceable wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth; that in tranquility your kingdom may go forward, till the earth is filled with the knowledge of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
