About the ANiC Electoral Nominating Committee
Our diocesan Electoral Nominating Committee (ENC) has been formed and commissioned with preparing a list of qualified candidates for two episcopal elections. The first happened in 2021 to elect our next diocesan bishop. The second is still to come at our synod in the fall of 2023 to elect another suffragan bishop, most likely to serve as Area Bishop in the West.
This committee is chaired by our Executive Archdeacon, the Ven. Paul Charbonneau, and composed of clergy and lay people from across the diocese.
The Electoral Nominating Committee has been appointed by the ANiC Council to:
ensure proper notification of the upcoming episcopal elections and provide guidelines for nominating candidates.
ensure nominated candidates meet the requirements of ACNA Canons and Customary and ANIC canons.
the ENC will determine who has successfully completed the screening process.
prepare a final list of candidates for election including pertinent information, and
provide suggestions on how to conduct the election at Synod.
