At Synod 2018 in Abbotsford, BC, we have a special training session and dinner available for those interested in learning more about the “God’s Big Story (GBS)” children’s curriculum. It will be on our workshop day, Wednesday, November 7.

Below is a personal invitation from Rev. Jeremy Graham, one of the creators of GBS and our Loving Children and Families Priority Leader.

Following my workshop on ‘Gospel Shaped Children’s And Youth Ministry I invite you to join me as Penny Love leads us in a training session on implementing the new God's Big Story curriculum that has recently been made available through ANiC.  GBS is a gospel driven, Christ-centered, Biblically based, Anglican curriculum developed in Canada that incorporates catechesis and week by week training notes for teachers.

For more details and sample lessons see https://www.anglicannetwork.ca/gods-big-story

For about one hour Penny will model for us what a typical GBS lesson looks like.  We will get to participate as Penny Love leads us through a typical lesson with singing, memory verses, catechism question/answer, a presentation of the story of the day, discussion, prayer and a variety of response activities. This training session will be useful for newcomers to GBS and those already using the curriculum.

Join Us For Dinner

After the demonstration please plan to join us for a dinner to continue the conversation and engage in a time of informal fellowship. Dinner is our treat – just RSVP so we know how much to order. Email: jeremy@sjvan.org
